Dhaka: The US embassy in Dhaka is going to resume the visa program which was stopped due to corona virus. It has already started accepting B-1 and B-2 visa applications.
Consular Chief William Doers and Deputy Chief of Consular Kelly Irie made the announcement at a virtual press conference on Monday (October 5th).
Those whose visa applications have been rejected are currently unable to reapply, the press conference said. And those who did not get visa due to not giving one or two documents later got it. They can now apply for a visa. Who had applied before. Those whose visa has expired will be able to apply for a new visa. You do not have to go directly to the embassy for this. Everything from application forms to visa fees can be done online.
Responding to a question from reporters, he added that only those students who are eligible to get a visa without an interview can now apply. No new student visa application is being taken. Only students whose visas have expired within the last 24 months can now apply for a visa. For example, after a student arrives in the country in January and his visa expires in March, he can apply for a visa without an interview.
No decision has yet been made on when the new student visa will be introduced. This visa will be introduced on the advice and guidance of those involved in the medical profession in the United States.
